Newport Aquarium
Designed to entertain and educate, the Newport Aquarium showcases thousands of animals from around the world in a million gallons of water. Visitors can encounter the world's most dangerous, bizarre and beautiful animals, including the popular Sweet Pea and Scooter who are part of the only shark ray-breeding program in the world. With expansive exhibits such as the 385,000-gallon "Surrounded by Sharks," and amazing animals, including the adorable gentoo penguins and free-flying lorikeets, the aquarium has somthing for everyone.
Special events include: Ghosts of Pirate Cove, Sweat Pea the Shark Ray's Birthday Celebration, and Scuba Santa's Water Wonderland.
Hours:
The Newport Aquarium is open 365 days a year, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., with extended summer and holiday hours to maximize visitor enjoyment. Visit the Aquarium's website for details.
Admission:
Adults $18.95, Children ages 2-12 $11.95. Children under 2 admitted free. Group discounts available.
